The Passing of Msgr. Peter

It is with a heavy heart that I share the sudden and unexpected passing of Msgr. Peter Zendzian, Pastor of St. Matthias Parish, on Friday morning, October 23.

Msgr. Peter was a wonderful servant of Jesus and a faithful friend to St. Matthias School.  His love of its students was evident in his words and actions.  Though we only had one and a half years to share his life, we will always hold him in our hearts.  We pray for the repose of his soul and ask him to continue to intercede for us as he rests among the company of the angels and saints.

Ordained February 3rd, 1979, the Rev. Msgr. Peter W. Zendzian served the Diocese of Brooklyn & Queens as current pastor of St. Matthias Roman Catholic Church in Ridgewood, New York and previously as pastor of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church in Maspeth, NY. The Rev. Msgr. Zendzian also served as Coordinator of the Polish Apostolate.

Beloved brother of Barbara Albanese and brother-in-law of Victor, and loving uncle of Michelle and Christina

Monsignor was a special person! I remember sitting next to him at last years Christmas show and he was telling me how much he loves all the kids at Matthias. Let’s keep him in our hearts and let’s make him proud.
