Message from our Sisters

The message below is from our School Sisters of Notre Dame.  Please join us in honoring their 100+ years of dedicated ministry to our school community on Saturday, June 11, at 5pm for a Mass of Thanksgiving followed by a reception in the gym.

Dear School Family,

“There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every affair under the heavens.”  Eccl.3:1

After serving in St. Matthias Parish and School for over one hundred years, your School Sisters of Notre Dame are being led to retirement and other fields of ministry.  We have been blessed by knowing you, serving you, and being served by you.  You have become a part of the fabric of our lives, and we take you with us as we go.

We will all be moving into our Motherhouse in Wilton, CT.  It is the same place many of you visited and supported for years through the Octoberfest gatherings and calendars.  It is a heavy moment for us but a joyful one as well, since we are being called by God to new beginnings.

With heartfelt gratitude for all that has been,

Your Sisters

I owe many things to our good sisters… Above all, it is because of them Christ is in my heart. No one else. They showed me the way by example.

  2. Harold Schaefer says:

Three generations of my family have been taught by the sisters and if I still lived in the area my children would have also. They were always firm but fair. The school will not be the same without them.
