Principal’s Message

“grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity.”

2 Peter 3:18

A succession of moments…new beginnings, sad farewells, joyous celebrations of life, and faith, and learning…  Our 2017-2018 school year is quickly coming to an end.  Join us in these final days as we celebrate our accomplishments and reflect on how we have grown in faith and knowledge.

The St. Matthias Family is very proud of our students.  They have spent their days learning new things, expanding their skills, and working together.  We have prayed; worshipping as one family.  We have shared our dreams and the challenges life has brought before us this year.

Through it all, our children have remained living symbols of Christ’s love.  Whether they are singing songs or reading their textbooks, they remind us of the joy of learning and the wonder of God’s creation.  In their buddy activities it is easy to see the love that keeps our school family strong.  We also work hard to share this love with the greater community as our classes raise money for the missions, the elderly, and the sick.  We have fed the hungry, clothed the naked, and prayed for the needs of others.

This year we have truly experienced the love returning to St. Matthias from friends far and near.  We enjoy the notes and cards that arrive from families who have moved away.  These letters are always filled with praise for our academy and a Box Top or two to support our programs.  Our alumni have donated generously to our academy and our Educational Foundation.  Friends have gifted us through their support of HAA fundraisers and donations to our library.  The prayers of our parishioners, families, and friends are priceless, as well.

So now we say good-bye to the Class of 2018.  Thank you for your hard work and dedication.  You have made us proud!  May you always remember the love of this school’s family and experience abundant blessings as you continue your educational journey.

We wish to thank our faculty and staff for dedicating their lives to the children of St. Matthias Catholic Academy.  Their selfless ministry in Catholic education has changed the lives of many in our family.  We thank them, too, for all they do above and beyond their regular teaching duties.

To all who will leave us for other schools and new homes, we wish you a wonderful future.  We are happy to have been a part of your world.  You will not be forgotten.  Come back and visit us.

Finally, the Family of SMCA wishes all returning students, families, and faculty a safe and blessed summer.  Thank you for your hard work and support.  You’ve earned these days of sun and fun!  God bless you!  See you in September!
